Ferryside Village Forum Market Saturdays 1st and 8th April 2017 10am to 1pm
Share your wild life pictures
Over the past few years we have worked with Rosie Carmichael,Carmarthenshire Rural Conservation officer with funding support by Natural Resources Wales, taking part in a number of exciting events to help us “see” and cherish our wonderful local environment better.
This year we want to encourage you to take pictures of the natural world and share them.In this way we can celebrate our diverse environment, stretching from the banks of the Tywi estuary through Ferryside village up to Llansaint and include dedicated farm land as well as natural wooded areas.
You can log into the West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre (WWBIC) register and record your sightings of plants, insects and animals and help everyone build up a picture of our local environment.
Alternatively you can send us your pictures with a note saying when and where you took the picture and what you think you have snapped. We will endeavour to put these onto a separate page of this site for you to enjoy.Email enquiries@ferrysidevillageforum.org.uk See Natural Resources in Ferryside

Bee Friendly Carmarthen
The Welsh Government launched a new nationwide scheme for towns, communities, schools, businesses, universities, public bodies and places of worship to encourage action around pollinators under the title Bee Friendly / Caru Gwenyn (http://www.biodiversitywales.org.uk/Wales-Action-Plan-for-Pollinators ) in September.
We would like to make Carmarthen one of the first towns in Wales to be an official ‘Bee Friendly’ town, so we are launching this new project with a special film showing and talk by Friends of the Earth bee campaigner Bleddyn Lake
If you would like to get involved with Bee Friendly Carmarthen please do join us :

The Four Goals for Bee Friendly are:
1. Food–providing pollinator-friendly food sources in your area
2. Five Star accommodation–providing places for insect pollinators to live
3. Freedom from pesticides and herbicides – committing to avoid chemicals that harm pollinators
4. Fun–involving all the community and telling people why you are helping pollinators.
