Hello everyone
I’ve organised a Cruse fund raising event at the Parrot Music Bar, 32 King Street, Carmarthen SA31 1BS. The evening will be on Wednesday 13th February 2013 and will start at about 7.00pm.
Three bands have agreed to play for free and there will be a charge of £5.00 on the door per person. All the door money will go to Carmarthenshire Cruse and there will also be a raffle in aid of Cruse.
All I ask to cover my staffing + electricity costs is that each person buys at least one drink. We offer a great range of freshly ground fair trade coffees, teas, local real ale and scrumpy cider on tap as well as other alcoholic + non-alcoholic beverages.
This will be a great night and will feature:
Please come along and support this fund raiser, if anybody wishes to reserve a ticket please contact me on 07811 319113 as the evening looks like it will be popular.
Many thanks + warm regards,
John Williams

Hi everyone (I hope this is the correct spot for this discussion!)
I would like to begin a discussion on how you thought our poems and pints event went.
I thought it went very well. The poetry and music was diverse. The food was good and Delme was an excellent compere. The carol singing was a nice touch. You may have ideas, that could be introduced into this very nice social occasion.
It maybe that by having a shared discussion, people who could not attend this event, do not feel left out.
What do you think ?
Not the first time so divisively.
The vulnerable are being hounded.
Facing overwhelming austerity.
Should be grateful it’s not you or me?
It must be fearful to be this graded
Not for the first time so divisively
Benefits slashed – a sad legacy
Is it time to stand and be counted?
Facing overwhelming austerity
The safety net removed what lunacy
‘Shirkers’ an insult. I would feel baited
Not for the first time so divisively
Child poverty grows causing misery
Queues for food banks have started
Facing overwhelming austerity
But debt is bad for our country
We can blame the meek and the wretched
Not for the first so divisively
Facing overwhelming austerity
