REMINDER: International Women’s Day on Sunday! #MoreThanMyBody

On March 8th we celebrate International Women‘s Day. We have taken this year‘s motto „Make It Happen“ to heart. Our campaign aims to fight sexism in Germany‘s biggest selling tabloid. Every day, women are reduced to their appearance and sexuality, suggesting that the female population has little more to offer than their boobs.

We call on you to help us take a stand against sexism in the media.

Many of you have already sent fantastic pictures! We are very impressed!

And there is still some time to take action if you have not done so yet:
Send us a photo of you holding a sign that points out what you contribute to society. It could be a hobby, a job, your family and friends… Whatever it is, tell us what defines you and show the world how diverse and awesome women are. Add the Hashtag #MoreThanMyBody.

You‘ll find an example of Sophia holding such a sign here

Dear men, please share our idea with the women in your lives and invite them to participate.
Send your photos to stopbildsexism@gmail.com or in a private message on Facebook.
We will collect all photos and post them on March 8th under the hashtag #MoreThanMyBody (and #MehrAlsMeinKörper, the German equivalent) on Twitter and Facebook. You may of course also share your photo yourself using #MoreThanMyBody @StopBildSexism (and #MehrAlsMeinKörper).

And no problem at all if you can’t take a picture! We would be very happy to receive your #MoreThanMyBody tweets even without picture – the more the merrier!

Be a part of this year‘s International Women‘s Day and #MakeItHappen! Show the world that women are so much more than their bodies.

Help us by sharing our campaign with all of your friends and family:
