Ferryside Market – What’s coming up?

Ferryside Market tomorrow from 10 until 1p.m. in the grounds of the Old Education Centre. Weather forecast is for a dry day with sunny spells before rain on Sunday.

Lucy’s Kitchen has  flans, quiches and Foccacia on sale as well as fresh made Samosas.

John and Gill’s fresh local eggs and a selection of vegetables all the way from Llansaint. Mother hen will be there along with her six little chics!

Banc organics have their usual wide range of vegetables available including carrots, beetroots, leeks, shallots, onions, potatoes, spinach, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes

The craft chalet will have Jim’s paintings , books and DVDs for sale. Collette’s wood pieces and Johns plants should all be there.

This Saturday on Ferryside Market- The Old Education Centre

The Craft Chalet has Jim Greers work and Jean’s books, DVDs and trinkets all at knock down prices as well we hope to see Collete and her artfull driftwood trees and ornaments.

2 Plant stalls; John’s quality plants with autumn flowers and a selection of bulbs. Perenial Plants will be there for the last time this year with a great selection of reasonably priced perennials.

Dave Jam with a big selection of autumn jams and chutneys  plus his uncle’s local honey. (Don’t miss his hot tomato  salsa). Banc Organics selling fresh picked local veg’- beetroot, tomato, beans, carrots and potatoes.John and Gill Buckle are bringing along their favourite mother hen with her 9 Light Sussex 2 week old chicks. Selling duck and chicken eggs at keen prices. Some seasonal vegetables.

Lucy’s Kitchen  will be selling savoury flans and fruit pies and Foccacia bread all fresh baked on the day. Organic Olive and Sunflower Oil available.

As ever the Market cafe will be open for tea, coffee and a slice of cake.

Lovely day for a Market

Lovely day on the market today with lots of stalls and bargains to buy. Early birds snapped up Lucy’s quiches and Foccacia.

Martins vegetables and Dave’s giant marrows were a big hit.

We were fortunate to have two plant stalls today with Kay and Bob’s stunning Herbaceous perennials and John’s Quality plants.

John and Gill Buckle sold duck and chicken eggs fresh from their triumphs at the Llansaint Gardening club show.( 2 First prizes!)

A new stall run by Collette had lovely drift wood art and rustic bird boxes.Jean sold recycled books and Jim was on hand to talk about his wide selection of prints and paintings.

As ever the cafe did a roaring trade and made a good contribution to Forum funds. Same again next week for most stalls. See you there!

Open day at Coed Panteg Woodland Co-op

Coed Panteg Woodland Co-op are holding their annual open day this Sunday the 25th August between 2 and 5 pm. Come and see what’s happening down in the woods and meet up with coop members and friends. A lot of work has been carried out with the help of Team 157 of the Prince’s Trust including the creation of paths, pond and Hugel Mound growing beds. We will have refreshments and a barbecue,  do bring along something to share  if you like. Children very welcome.

New Market site a success

The new market site at the Old Education site got off to a warm start.

Paul Morgan kindly helped us to move the chalets in to position – Thanks Paul.

Business was brisk with a good range of goods for sale.
