Community Herb Garden
We were ready – cold blue skies, a good omen
Stall holders exhibiting their talents.
Knitted baby bonnets.
Home made pies.
Our hills were alive with an eclectic repertoire, our school choir,
embracing other cultures
Proud parents looking on
A local brass band launching the christmas pageant
This was it!
Our struggle to reflect local communities needs
to encourage local projects;
local shopping was working
Something had shifted
Lacking oxygen obstacles withered.
Our market cafe (full of home- made goodies)
creating a space for laughter, diverse conversations.
A forum reflecting who we are.
Our small village – a speck in the greater scheme of things,
mirroring global communities.
Hard work does have it’s own reward
A sense of pride.
Witnessing community spirit.
Fostering growing humanity
Our Christmas market
An example of joyful integration.
The Ferryside Village Forum Market will go ahead as usual this Saturday between 10 o’clock and 1 o’clock. The usual favourites, vegetables, pastries and craft work plus Sarah who is baking up a storm with her exotic savoury pastries and Dave “Jam” is back with an extended range of Jams and chutneys. Fresh chicken and duck eggs from John and Jill, Llansaint. Cafe open for Columbian coffee, tea and slices of cake.
We are determined to make the market and the development of the Education centre and Sport Hall a roaring success despite the attention of some miserable thieves who stole metal from the centre and caused water damage. Time for that Dunkirk Spirit!

A food and sustainability network started in the North of England in Todmarten by Co-founders Mary Clear and Pam Warhurst. They have both delivered inspiring talks about the movement for the video lecture series TED:
Core Values:
• working together
• learning – from field to classroom to kitchen
• supporting local business
Inspired by this message, other enthusiasts have picked up the baton. The UK network alone has more than 50 independent groups and as a worldwide movement, it stretches from Canada to New Zealand.
